On the Altar looks at how the New Testament uses the words 'sacrifice' and 'offering' to describe familiar aspects of the Christian life - praying, praising, serving, doing good, giving and witnessing. It invites us to consider how these practices can be part of our response to the sacrifice of Jesus and the call to be 'a living sacrifice' (Romans 12:1).

This book can help new Christians explore the life of faith and service. It could also be a useful refresher for more experienced followers of Jesus. Each will discover that the way of sacrifice is the way to freedom and fulfilment.
